Science communication as a bridge between climate research and climate services

📅 25 March 2026 📍 Faculty of Geography (5-7 Clinicilor Street)

How can climate information be better communicated and used to support society in facing climate change and extreme events?

This workshop, jointly organized by the SCEWERO and Climateurope2 projects, will bring together scientists, private sector representatives, stakeholders, and young ambassadors to explore the role of climate services and science communication in building climate awareness and preparedness.

The workshop aims to foster dialogue among scientists, business representatives, public authorities, NGOs, and youth to support more effective climate communication and the development of climate services that respond to real societal needs.

The event will feature short talks from experts working on climate services and science communication, followed by a perspective from the private sector on how collaboration between companies and academic institutions can transform research results into practical, user-oriented climate services.

A key part of the workshop will be an open discussion with stakeholders, focusing on their needs for climate information and how communication between scientists and users can be improved toward better climate change adaptation.

The event will engage high school students involved in the School Climate Ambassadors programme, who will share their experiences and perspectives on the role of young people in science communication and climate action.
